Eddie grew up in Fort Worth and had lived in Arlington the last 32 years. He married his wife, Chryl, on Oct. 12, 1968.
He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and received Sailor of the Month twice during that time. His hobbies were watching westerns, playing dominoes, camping, fishing and hunting. Eddie was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Arlington.
He was preceded in death by parents, Durwood and Jonnie Claunch; and brother, Jimmy Claunch.
Survivors: Wife, Chryl Lynn Collier Claunch of Arlington; daughters, Shannon Denise Claunch Friske and husband, Stephen, of Arlington and Gennie Lynnette Claunch Eaton and husband, Jason, of Keller; grandchildren, Hanna Lane, Zackary and Zoe, all of Arlington; sister, Donna King and husband, Troy, of Keller; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joe and Virginia Elkins of Crowley; and sister-in-law, Aloyce Claunch of Fort Worth.
