On April 8, 1924, she was born in Monroe, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Lester and Grace (Huffer) Daniel.
In 1942, Eddie married her loving husband of over 64 years, Angelo Baker, who preceded her in death on April 12, 2006. Together they moved to Morrow County in 1963 from Crossville, Illinois.
Eddie cared for her family as a homemaker, and enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She also attended the Gilead Friends Church.
Eddie is survived by her son Steve Baker of Edison; granddaughter Kelly Lynn (Dan) Johnigk; step grandsons Joe and Steve Gregory; four great-grandchildren Devon, Mayra, Danielle, and Alyssia; a step great grand-daughter Nicki; sister Dimple (Richard) Carlile of Waynesburg; her brother Hollis Daniel of Manto, Illinois; and close friends Doris Rhodebeck and Dean and Gloria Cunningham.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons Angelo Baker Jr. in 1963, and Stanley Ray Baker in 1999; a daughter Janet Gregory in 1993; three brothers Hurschell, Dexter, and Doc Daniel.
The family will greet friends on Monday, February 12, from 3 – 6 p.m., at the Craven & Snyder Funeral Home, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead, and also on Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Stendebeck-Kittinger-Fair Funeral Home, 200 S. Walnut St., Carmi, Illinois. The family will observe private family graveside services at the Union Ridge Cemetery in Crossville, Illinois.
