Christian Jensen funeral Sunday at St. Edward
Christian M. Jensen, 84, of 2054 25th avenue, died Friday morning in Behlen Memorial hospital where he had been a patient since Monday. A retired St. Edward farmer, he had resided with a daughter in Columbus the last two years.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Edward, with burial in Evergreen cemetery. The Rev. L.A. Hansen will officiate. Visitation hours at the funeral home are 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Mr. Jensen, born Sept. 6, 1884, in Denmark, came to the United States in 1909. Except for a time in Idaho, most of his life was spent at St. Edward.
He married Thora Rasmussen on June 30, 1913, at St. Edward, and she preceded him in death in 1964.
Surviving are two sons, Arno of Albion and Earl of Faribault, Minn; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Wanda) Svatora of Council Bluffs, Ia., Mrs. Carl (Ruth) Krogh of O'Neil and Mrs. Rodney (Ula) Jacobson of Columbus; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters and one brother.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
