Visitation for Stanley G. Voigt, 90, of Bonfield, will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, west Kankakee, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. John Cross will officiate.
Burial will be in Bonfield Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bonfield First United Methodist Church or to the donor's choice. He died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011 at Miller Center in Kankakee.
Mr. Voigt was a farmer, bus driver and township official. He was born June 29, 1920 in Bonfield, the son of Edward and Esther Stroud Voigt. His wife, the former Lila Wilson, whom he married Aug. 30, 1942, died Feb. 12, 1999.
He serviced in the U.S. Army from October 1942 to February 1946 during World War II, in the Pacific.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and David St. Germaine, and Barbara and Ronald Cordes, all of Bonfield; five grandchildren, Doug (Linda) St. Germaine, Debbie (Brian) Norton, Denise (Tom) Schlenz and Tamara (Brian) Lockwood; all of Bonfield, and Todd (Gina) Cordes of Limestone; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are his parents; four brothers, Walter, Leonard, Clarence and Arthur; and two sisters-in-law, Vera Voigt and Cleo Voigt.
