HENRY G. SLANGER
HOBART, JUNE 27, -- HENRY G. SLANGER, 88 DIED SUNDAY IN HIS PORTAGE TWP., HOME FOLLOWING A LINGERING ILLNESS.
Born in Holland, Slanger came to the United States at the age of 24 and made his home in Portage twp., where he resided for the remainder of his life. A farmer, he was one of the oldest residents in that area.
Surviving are two sons, Garrett, of Chicago, and Walter of Portage twp.,; a daughter, Mrs. George Schlobohm of Valparaiso; three brothers, Garrett of Chauteau, MT., and John and Fred, of Grand Rapids, MI.; one sister, Mrs. Jessie Vanderloon of Grand Rapids, MI.; four grandchildren; and five great granchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at McCool Lutheran church with Rev. John Bescherer officiating. Burial in McCool Cemetery.
The body will be at the Pflughoeft Funeral home in Hobart.
