Another young one gone too soon. Beloved son.....rest well my son, until we meet again. He was in the Army National Guard 6251st. Virgil attended Flowing Wells High School and was in the JROTC program for 4 years and participated in Track, and for a time was the company bugler for JROTC. He achieved the rank of Lt. He loved to play his trumpet, as well as guitar, and music of all kinds. He learned to play songs by listening to them, altho he could read music.
He had discussed the option of going active Army soon.
He was baptised into the Christian Faith, and was single when his life here on earth came to an abrupt end.

He was the grandson of John and Iva Brickey Cardell (of Oracle) and Maudie Young and Gollie Keith(of Mammoth). Son of Nancy (Hough)and Teddy Ray Keith,(deceased) step father Robert Hough, brother of Laurie and Eric Keith,(he is now deceased) step-brother of Duane and Lorrie Hough, and nephew of Lynda Cardell.
My last memory was a telephone conversation with him, and the wave to me as I gave him his last ride to his friend's home for a going away party for his friend who was preparing to leave active Army.

His life was cut short by unusual circumstances that night, a gunshot wound just feet from his car....some day we shall know the TRUTH of what happened to you that night!

There were many of his old friends, family, family friends and classmates who attended his funeral which was conducted at the Evergreen Chapel. Virgil's young brother who died several years later is also buried here at Evergreen and lies just a few feet from Virgil.

Wonderful memories of you will always survive. A mother's love never dies.
