Funeral services were held at Concord Baptist Church Tues. afternoon for William Arthur Bailey, 73, who died at his home at Brandon, MS Monday, Feb. 17, 1958 after a long illness. Rev. Gullett officiated, and interment followed in the church cemetery, with Cook Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Clinton Newman, Elmer Brantley, Elmer Collins, Judson Newman, Less Kimbrell and Emmett Kimbrell.
Mr. Bailey was born Aug. 19, 1884 in Choctaw County, MS to William J. & Nancy J. Bailey, but lived in Calhoun County for 50 years before retiring from farming and moving to Brandon about 7 years ago.
He is survived by his companion, Mrs. Janie Kimbrell Bailey of Brandon; 3 sons, A. E. Bailey and C. L. Bailey of Brandon and B. E. Bailey of Memphis, TN; 3 daughters, Mrs. Martin Hines of Brandon, Mrs. T. W. Smith of Memphis, TN and Mrs. C. E. Tegerson of Oklahoma City, OK; a step-son, Z. L. Knight of Hattisburg, MS; 2 brothers, Jack Bailey of Decatur and E. G. Bailey of Memphis; 4 sisters, Mrs. Minnie Collins of Memphis, Miss Lillie Bailey of Okla., Mrs. Dora Bennett of Chicago and Mrs. Clara White of Greenville; and 12 grandchildren.
