CPL Jimmy Carroll Green, Vietnam Veteran, resident of Stanley, NC.

Corporal Jimmy Carroll Green was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service and a Draftee, CPL Green served our country until October 18th, 1968 in Quang Nagai, South Vietnam. He was 20 years old and was not married. It was reported that Jimmy died from a mine explosion. His body was recovered. CPL Green is on panel 41W, line 073 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.

He was the son of Mrs Thomasina Green Jenkins & stepson of Mr. William E Jenkins, Stanley, NC.

He served with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 11th Infantry Brigade, USARV.

He was awarded The Combat Medic's Badge(CMB), The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal and The National Defense Service Medal.
