HERMAN WILLIAM CROSS
76 of Main Street, Fairfax and a former resident of South Hero passed away Friday afternoon, August 8, 1997 in FAHC in Burlington, in the company of his loving family, following a long illness. He was born in Sheldon on July 26, 1921, a son of the late William and Emeline (Bessette) Cross. On June 6, 1953, he married Beulah Margaret Beauchemin in Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Burlington. She predeceased him on August 1, 1994. Herman was a communicant of St. Luke Church and a member of Friendly Neighbors Senior Citizens in Fairfax. He was a former member of St. Rose of Lima Church in South Hero. For many years Herman operated the family Cloverdale Farm in Westford and for a short time later a farm in South Hero. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at UVM for 12 years. he leaves his children, Michael Cross and Faith Cross, both of Fairfax; two brothers, Armand Cross and his wife Yvonne of Underhill and Frank Cross and wife Mary of Burlington; four sisters, Juanita Shedd and husband John of St. Albans, Katherine Buchanan of Westford, Cecilia Cross of Burlington and Theresa Price and husband Walter of Carson City, Nevada. He was predeceased by a brother, Carlton, in 1928.
