Jane was the oldest child of Wilson Darlington and Mary Barbara Lupfer.

She married Jacob Beaver on November 6, 1851 in New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania, and was the mother of four children:

+ Elizabeth
+ Harvey McClure
+ Meredith Darlington

Jane and Jacob moved to Paola, Kansas in 1868, and she died of Typhoid Fever the next year, at the age of 37 years, 9 months and 22 days.
