Has the honor of being the Firefighter that served the Department longer than any firefighter in history, 55 years of service.
U. S. Navy, WWII.
He served 40 years on the Houston Firefighters Relief and Retirement Fund. He served on the Board of the Dennis Holder Scholarship Fund and the Board of the Firefighters Credit Union. He was a member of the Memorial Fund and was instrumental in the creation of the Houston Fire Fighter Memorial Wall and Gardens constructed at the Pension Fund Complex. He was very fondly called Mr. Pension.
Husband to Nelda for 63 years. Father of Sheri Lynn, Alana Beth and Kenneth Earl. Granfather of Edward, Lisa, Jason, Nicholas, Skylan, and Kendall.
