Rita M. Eggleston, of Sheridan, died Dec. 25, 2006, in Butte.
Rita was born Dec. 23, 1922, at Cameron to Fay and Edna (Hanna) Selby. She was raised in the Centennial Valley at Elk Lake.
She worked as a registered nurse during World War II. She married John Selvidge, Jr. in May 1948 in Las Vegas. They moved to Lima and owned the Mint Bar. They then lived in Reno and Colton, Calif. They later divorced. Rita married Herb Eggleston June 1975 and they moved to Sheridan in the late 1970s. They later divorced. While in Sheridan she worked for the Bovey family managing the Daylight cabins.
Rita enjoyed the nursing profession and practiced on family and friends throughout her life.
She was a member of the Pythian Sisters Nomads of Avrudaka of Butte.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harvey, Homer and Oren Selby.
Survivors include her sons, William and Shirley Selvidge of Fairbanks, Alaska, and John (Vicky) Selvidge of Virginia City; grandchildren, John Selvidge, Herb Selvidge, Lucinda Selvidge, Erick and Tanya Selvidge; great-grandchildren, Kelly and Haylie Selvidge.
Memorial services are 11 a.m. Friday from the K&L Mortuary Chapel at Sheridan with the Rev. Ed Stupca officiating.
