She was the wife of James W. Sweeney, to whom she was married for 60 years, and a daughter of the late John J. and Anna V. (Garrity) Roberts, and educated in Lowell schools. She graduated from Sacred Heart Grammar School and Lowell High School.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna A. and Michael Sullivan of Lowell and Kathleen A. and Stuart LaBrecque of Pelham, N.H.; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Walter and Karen Roberts of Brattleboro, Vt., Frederick and Theresa Roberts of Chelmsford and Paul Roberts of Kennebunkport, Maine; four sisters, Rita Coughlin of Dracut, Eileen Shea of Derry, NH, Sr. Helen Roberts O.S.F. of Quincy, and Mary Alice Curran of Dracut; seven grandchildren, Erin Heise and her husband, Robert, of Derry, N.H., James W. Sullivan of Lowell, Meghan Stamm and her husband, Russell, of Dedham, Elizabeth Ann Morrocco and her husband, Robert, of Londonderry, N.H., Nicole LaBrecque of Pelham, N.H., Christopher LaBrecque of Pelham, N.H., and Matthew LaBrecque of Litchfield, N.H.; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Francis Roberts and John Roberts.
