Clara Whilhelmina (Jacobitz) Sorenson
died at her daughter's home, Shirley A. (Sorenson) Dichter. Clara was the youngest of 11 children. She married Carl Christian Sorenson in Hastings, Adams, Nebraska. They moved from Nelson, Nebraska to Judith Gap, Montana in 1927. Because of the rough winters around Wheatland County for farming, Carl moved his family to Kalispell, Montana around 1934. He purchased a farm west of Kalispell; bordered by Highway 2 West, West Spring Creek Rd, Sheepherders Hill Rd and the end of 3 Mile Drive. Carl and Clara made a pond on their land, and filled it with fish. The late Pastor Peder Waldum from the Bethlehem Lutheran Church always like to come there and fish. In the Daily Inter Lake in the early 30's you will find ads for Turkey and Goose Shoots at Carl's farm. His neighbor Carl Nommensen would help him in these adventures, and the women were busy with refreshments.
Carl and Clara's daughters are Wilma of Kalispell, Montana; Norma Elisabeth Sorenson; and Shirley A. Sorenson.
When Carl and Clara retired, they moved to Evergreen and sold their farm to Russel Deist.
