He was the son of Maynard Lee Ohnmeiss and Ruby Jean George. Kent was a graduate of Montourville High School, Class of 1972. On November 30, 1992, he retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant. He was a veteran of the the Vietnam War and Persian Gulf War. Formerly of Pascagoula and Biloxi, Mississippi, he died early Sunday morning at his home in Montoursville. While in the Air Force, he was awarded the Humanitarian Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Air Force Overseas Service Long Tour Ribbon. He was a member of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Gesang Verein Harmonia Club of Williamsport. He was a member of American Legion Post 160 at Pascagoula, Mississippi. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 332 at D'Iberville, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his father, Maynard Lee Ohnmeiss (1995) and his wife, the former Eleanor "Bernie" Phillips Ohnmeiss (2002). Surviving are his mother, Ruby Ohnmeiss; his brother Keith Ohnmeiss, three step-sons all of Biloxi, Mississippi; and his two nephews.
