She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ and volunteered at the Bootheel Youth Camp.
On Dec. 23, 1954, in Bloomfield, she married Asa "Dale" Gillespie, who survives of the home. Other survivors include three sons, Bruce Gillespie and Rodney Gillespie of Charlotte, NC, and Kyle Gillespie of Dexter; one daughter, Gail Nelson of Dexter; one brother, Norman Larsen of Apple Springs, TX; two sisters, Leah Phillips of Grand Prairie, TX, and Hazel Perry of Bloomfield; and four grandchildren.
One brother, Lee Larsen preceded her in death.
Visitation is today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Services are Monday at the Dexter Church of Christ with Jim Faughn and Don Bahr officiating. Burial in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
