Obituary: 1945 Oct 10-Wednesday-Helena-Oct.9-Eli Merritt Abel, 39, died at his home here Tuesday morning, Oct.9,1945, after an illness of three weeks. Mr. Abel was born in Forrest City and had been a resident of Helena for the past nine years. For a number of years he had been employed as a clerk in Mikes Pool Room. He was a Methodist. Besides his wife, Mrs. Mickey Abel, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Turner Davis, Helena; two daughters, Mary Catherine and Alice Nell Abel, Helena; one son, John William Abel, Helana; and four brothers, D. R. Abel, Helena, O. W. Abel, Greenville, J. R. Abel, Lexa, and J. W. Abel, Alabama. Born 1906 Died Oct.9,1945 FAG 16847617 Spouse: Mickey Roberson Abel (1909-1963)
