MOS:0311 Rifleman
Clive was the son of Clive and Julia Z Garcia Sr, of Morenci, AZ. He graduated from Morenci High School and along with eight of his friends drove to Phoenix where they all enlisted in the Marine 5 July 1966. They were Larry West, Jose Moncayo, Clive Garcia, Bobby Draper, Alfred Van Whitmer, Bradford S King, Leroy Cisneros, Joe Sorrelman and Mike Cranford.

All nine, who became known as "The Morenci Nine", took their boot camp training at the San Diego MCRD and graduated with Platoon 1055 and additional combat infantry training at Camp Pendleton. All of the nine Marines went to Vietnam at different times. Only three of these nine Marines returned home.

Clive was stationed in Guam during 1967-1968, at the Marine Barracks with Delta Company, before going to Vietnam. Clive arrived in Vietnam 27 August 1969, and was assigned to India Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.

Sgt Clive was on a squad size patrol when a booby-trapped 105mm round was detonated, about 3 kilometers north northeast of Liberty Bridge, Quang Nam Province. Sgt Clive died as a result of multiple fragmentation wounds to the body. He was single and had served his country for three years.
