Brett attended school in Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School in 2002. Brett attended church at the Evangelical Free Church in Burlington.
Brett was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal great grandparents, and one uncle John Wayland Files.
He is survived by his parents Shelli and step father Larry Huddleston, and Bert and step mother Deb Files. He is also survived by one brother Brenden Files, a step brother Kyle Huddleston, one sister Shelbie Huddleston and a step sister Heather Wright and her husband Dave, maternal grandparents Gary and Ann Neill, and paternal grandparents Robert and Rowena Files, and a step grandmother Mary

Funeral services for Brett were held on Monday, Nov 6, 2006 at 10AM at the Burlington Community Center with Pastor Ron Lee officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery in Burlington. Visitation was held on Sunday, Nov 5, 2006 from 5-7PM at the Love Funeral Home in Burlington.
