Funeral services for Erile “Bill” Baggett Nelson of Hugo were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2005, at First United Methodist Church in Hugo with Reverend Kay Buchanan officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo.

Mrs. Nelson died Thursday, December 1, 2005 in Hugo. She was 88.

Erile “Bill” Baggett Nelson was born on May 25, 1917 in Paris, Texas, to John Lloyd and Lula Rebecca (Coston) Iglehart. She married Hermon Baggett on June 27, 1936 and he preceded her in death. She married Nixon “Happy” Nelson in Nine Paines, Okla., on November 20, 1993. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. Bill and her husband Hermon co-founded Baggett Motor Company in 1945 and it was owned and operated by the family until 1993. She had lived in this area most of her life. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Hermon Baggett; two sisters, Zinnah Bennett and Mena Dollar and one brother, Paul Iglehart.

Bill is survived by her husband Nixon “Happy” Nelson of Hugo; one daughter, Peggy Kaley and her husband Orville of Hugo; one son, Charles Baggett of Hugo and his wife, Judy Baggett of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Nettie Jo Thurman of Royse City, Texas and Alma Ruth McCormack of Dowling, Mich.; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; treasured friend and caregiver Eunice Connley and numerous other special friends.

The family received friends at the funeral home from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2005.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, PO Drawer M, Hugo, OK 74743.Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
