At his home in Doub's, this morning at 5.45 o'clock, Joseph E. Cartzendaffner, in the 55th year of his age. He was seized on Sunday last with the grippe and having been affected for some time with lung trouble, it proved fatal. He was born at Mountain Mills, near Jefferson, in 1835 and had resided in this county almost his entire life. He was a miller by trade and for 13 years ran the well known Cartzendaffner mill near this city and for the past four years had charge of the mill at Doub's. He was well known almost throughout the entire county and was a relative of Joseph S. House, formerly of Jerfferson, but now the well known miller of Taylortown, Va. He leaves no family, having never been married. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning. Services will be held at the house at 9 o'clock, after which the remains will be brought to this city and interred at Mt. Olivet. C.C. Carty has charge of the funeral arrangements.
