SAGINAW -- Johnny W. Tate Jr., 56, a reserve police captain with the Saginaw police department, died Thursday, March 6, 1997, at a Birmingham, Ala., hospital.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at Shannon North Funeral Chapel. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park.
Johnny W. Tate Jr. was born, Aug. 6, 1940, in Fort Worth.
He retired from LTV, was a Navy veteran and a reserve police captain 17 years.
Survivors: Wife, Teddie Tate of Saginaw; mother, Margaret Reneau of Saginaw; son, Johnny W. Tate III of Saginaw; daughters, Shelli Tate and Terri Luttrell and husband, David, of Saginaw; sisters, Sue and husband, Hugh Dale McClendon, of Weatherford, Glenda and husband, Tom McClendon, of Azle; Beverly and husband, Jarrell Whitfill, of Crowley and Fairy and husband, Michael Moore, of Saginaw; brother, Don Tate and wife, Annette, of Azle; grandson, Zachary Tate of Saginaw; and 12 nieces and nephews.
