James D. Hennigar of Sandwich, IL passed away September 1, 2006 in Boca Raton, FL. Jim was born in Richfield, MN on March 16, 1942, and grew up and went to school in Manly, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1965, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation from college, Jim moved to Sandwich, IL where for 40 years he and his wife, Janice (Friest), lived and raised their two sons. He worked for CTS Knights, Western Electric, AT&T and Bell Labs; and was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church in Sandwich. Jim also served on many boards and committees and was active in Lion's Club up until his passing.

Jim and Jan have spent the last six years as snowbirds in Deerfield Beach, FL, experiencing the joys of being grandparents. He is survived by Jan, his sons, Mark of Yorkville IL, and Michael (Jennifer) of Coconut Creek, Fl; grandchildren, Haley and Garrett of Coconut Creek, Fl; his mother, Wilma Hennigar (Wilbur Kahlstorf); Jim's sister, Deanna Dorf (Ronald); their children Kristen and Erik; and many special relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his baby brother, Dennis, and his father, Wayne.

A celebration of Jim's life in word and song will be held at Salem Lutheran Church in Sandwich, IL on October 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MDA-ALS Division, 1903 S Congress Ave, Suite 455, Boynton Beach, Fl 33426.
