She spent her youth in Grand Isle.
In November 1932, she married Leon C. Hendee. Leon and Anna owned and operated a farm in Grand Isle, where they started their family, until the early 1950s. In 1952, they bought a farm in Jericho, where they continued to raise their five sons and three of their grandchildren, Kenneth, Denise and Sheila. She created a warm and loving home at the farm for family and friends. She enjoyed babysitting the grandchildren and going to garage sales. It was there that she lived a long and wonderful life, and there that she died with loved ones around her.
Anna will be missed by her five sons and their spouses, Elton and Phyllis of Fair Haven, Ivan and Peggy, Leon and Margaret, Wayne and Audrey, and Kevin and Patti, all of Jericho; her 11 grandchildren, Kenneth, Sheila, Scott, David, Michelle, Patricia, Jeff, Cindy, Seth, Nathan and Sarah; several great-grandchildren; her sister, Anita Mitchell of Jericho; brother Lawrence LaMott of Grand Isle; and nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leon C. Hendee, on June 13, 1971; her granddaughter, Denise Anna Hendee, her brother, Ray LaMott, and her sister, Ethel Blow.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Church in Underhill Center with burial to follow in Grand Isle Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held at Anna's home, 173 Browns Trace, Jericho, today from 2 to 8 p.m.
