Mr. Arville O. Stewart, age 84 of Ruston, died Friday, February 5, 2010 in Ruston following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Stewart was a retired electrician with the Tennessee Valley Authority and served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Mr. Stewart was a member of First United Methodist Church of Scotsboro, AL
Friends may visit with the family 9:00 AM til 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Southern Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at Antioch Presbyterian Cemetery near Quitman with Reverend Bill Strawbridge officiating.
Mr. Stewart is survived by sisters, Rowena Weaver of Jonesboro, Connie Morvant and friend Richard Hosey of Houston, TX; niece, Michelle Cannon and husband David of Waleska, GA; newphew, Michel Morvant and wife Kim of Houston, TX; great-niece, Sienna Morvant of Houston, TX; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, William Averett Stewart and Blanche Oree (Walker) Stewart; wife, Martha Stewart.
