George arrived in the U.S. in July 1882. By 1883 their first child, Joseph was born. It is believed that George and Anna might have been married before they arrived in the U.S.; however, no married couple by the names George and Anna Keller arrived in New York in 1882. There were several other cities where people immigrated so they might have arrived unmarried. He was naturalized October 4, 1892.
George was a street car conductor. He went to Germany for a gastric cancer operation. He died there. His body was returned to Chicago and he was buried nearly a month later on October 5, 1913. He is buried with his family at St. Joseph's Cemetery. There is no death certificate for him in the U.S. since he died in Germany. George's father was Christian Keller and mother was Anna. Her maiden name is unknown.
