She is the daughter of Joseph Curtis Cowley (1869-1942) and Minnie Ann Wall (1875-1953)and was married to Christian Leroy (Roy) Buchanan (1891-1975) and was the mother of 3 children.

YOUNG VENICE MATRON DIES SUDDENLY

Gloom and sadness settled over the little town of Venice Saturday when it was learned that Mrs. Leroy Buchanan well loved church and community worker had died from appendicitis. Mrs. Buchanan was taken to the Richfield Hospital Saturday morning, but an examination disclosed the fact that the disease had made such ravages on her system that an operation could not be successful, and her husband and relatives were so informed. She died later in the day although she prayed hard to live.

Decedent was the daughter of Bishop and Mrs. C.W. Cowley and the wife of Leroy Buchanan. She is survived by these, and leaves three children and a number of brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held Tuesday. The speakers were G. Brugger, Mrs. Annie Davis of the Relief Society, H.H. Bell, R.D. Young and Bishop George Brugger and many beautiful things were said of the young wife and mother. Music was furnished by the ward choir, a duet by the Heppler sisters and a solo by Lena Pool. The community is
grief stricken over the demise of this worthy young women.
