FORMER FOOTBALL STAR AT WABASH IS DEAD
William Roy Bell, former football star of the Wabash A. A. and a native of Markle, died Wednesday at his home northwest of Wabash following a two-year illness. Mr. Bell had been under treatment at the Mayo Institute at Rochester, Minn., more than a year ago and his death was caused by a growth near his heart. He was the son of William and Martha Bell and was born in Markle, Ind., June 12, 1882, going to Wabash with his parents when a child. The widow and two daughters, Louise, age thirteen and Helen, age eight, survive. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at Wabash.
