'Dudie' was well known in the area for his musical talent and all around civic consciousness. He played clarinet with the Bill Clement's Band and the Hampton Community Band, and owned 'Bower Music Company' in East Hampton in the mid-to-late 40's. He was a past President of the Hampton Lions Club and was instrumental in the creation of the Hampton Lions Club Jug Band. Mr. Bowers taught Band for a time at Warwick High School. His musical talents were unlimited and 'Dudie Bowers' was highly respected and admired in the community.
Wilton A "Dudie" Bowers died unexpectedly at the age of 56. He was survived by his wife Marion, his two daughters, a brother and sister, and extended family and many friends.
