The "little angel" of Evergreen Cemetery exerts a strange pull over those who wander by. The lifelike face has eyes that seem to follow you.

Although Deborah Ferrand lived only eight years, the angel has been around for 116 years, surviving moves across the country and vandalism.

Deborah died of measles in 1890. Heartbroken, her father, Horace Ferrand, sent her photograph to an artist in Italy and commissioned an angel in her likeness to be made of Carrara marble. Her gravesite is surrounded by members of her family.
