Sarah Jane Colyott Lee was the oldest of twelve children born to Alexander and Mary Elizabeth (Keathley) Colyott. She arrived on July 25, 1875. She married John U. Lee in the home of her parents in Iron County, Missouri on Feb. 21, 1895. Thirteen children were born to them, twelve of whom survived their mother. She was a member of the church of Christ.

The Lee Family lived in Arkansas for many years before moving to Bixby, Oklahoma, where Sarah passed from this life on June 23, 1933. Burial was at Bixby Cemetery.
