Funeral services for Alonzo E. Luce, 54, were held from the Webster Funeral Home Friday afternoon conducted by the Rev. F. C. McCallon. He died at the Releif Hospital here Wednesday after nearly 20 years of failing health.

The deceased was the son of Alonzo and Catherine Luce, and was born in Clarke County on August 8, 1880. He lived his entire life in this county with the exception of two years spent in Nebraska

On September 14, 1904 he was married to Alice Mary Byrd of Clarke County. To this union were born two children, Edna Marie Luce Miller of this county, Hazel Georgia [of] Hutchins, Kansas. Mrs. Luce died April 27, 1909.

About 8 years ago he united with the Church of Christ and has held his membership in the local church since that time. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge. He was very fond of music and reading and was a good father and cheerful pleasant neighbor.

Besides his two daughters he leaves to mourn his departure two sisters, Carrie Hammer of Eldorado, Kansas, Hulda Castor of Murray; three brothers, Alfonzo of Murray, Eugene of Arnold, Nebr., and George W. of Murray, and eight grandchildren.

The burial was made in Sanders Cemetery, southwest of Osceola.
