IRENE McGAUGH HINSON, 86, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Thursday, August 31, 2006, in Norman.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Fletcher Christian Church with Jim Hall, minister, officiating.
Burial will be in the Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher (formerly Robbins Funeral Home).
She was born August 9, 1920 in Antlers, Oklahoma, to Walter and Minnie Clark McGaugh. She lived in Antlers until about the age of six and then moved with her family to Cyril, Oklahoma, where she graduated high school. She married Willis Hinson on August 24, 1940 in Fletcher, Oklahoma. She moved from Fletcher to Norman in 1969 and worked for the OU Printing Service from 1971 until her retirement in 1985. She received a letter of recognition for the outstanding work and fellowship she provided in her years of employment.
She had been a member of the Fletcher Christian Church and had taught the fours and fives Sunday School Class for many years. She was a member of the University Christian Church in Norman, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dee Ann and Joe Carpenter, and Rhonda and John Trent, all of Norman; a sister, Nadine Robinson, Lawton; four grandchildren, Steve and Becky Carpenter, Shari and Butch Wilson, Mike and Rayanne Carpenter and Jason and Kelli Trent; nine great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Tyler, Kyndal, Lacie, Zackary, Chardee, Christy, David and Jeanie; a niece and three nephews.
A sister, Floyce, and three brothers, Gene, Al and Everett McGaugh, preceded her in death.
