M. Arminta VanGorder Rodgers, 84, of Butler, formerly Duffy Road, died at 4:10pm Tuesday at Sunnyview Nursing Home.
Born Feb 15, 1920, in Butler, she was the daughter of Carl Murray Van Gorder and Edna Florence Fleming VanGorder.
SHe had been a clerk at G.C. Murphy's, now Ames, for more than 28 years. She had also been an organist at Free Methodist Church and attended Butler Nazarene Church.
Surviving are a brother, Jack D VanGorder of Butler, a number of nieces and nephews and cousins; and two sisters- in-law.
Her husband, Donald J Rodgers Jr, whom she married Feb 29, 1968, died Sept 15, 1995. A brother, Robert Van Gorder, also preceded her in death.
RODGERS- Friends of Arminta Rodgers, who died atTuesday, Aug 17, 2004, will be recieved from 7-9 pm Thursday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W Jefferson St.
Services will follow at 9pm Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev David Maitland, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at RoseHill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Christian School, 221 W New Castle St., Butler , Pa 16001
She was loved by her many nieces and nephews.
