Son of Samuel Goodwin Baty and Brittania Fidelia (Judd) Baty-Rouintree.

William Riley Baty was born July 28, 1869; and died at the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 18 days. His home was at Thomasville, MO; but he passed away at the home of his son, Eddie Baty, in Butler, AL.
He is survived by two sons, Eddie Baty of Butler, AL, and Marion Baty of Thomasville, MO; two grandsons, Edward and Jimmie Baty; one brother, Johnny Baty of Rover, MO; one sister, Pagie Roundtree of West Plains, MO, and many nieces and nephews.
He joined the Freewill Baptist Church at the Jolliff School when quite young, and was ready to go to be with Jesus.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Jolliff Cemetery by Bro. Napier, assisted by Bro. Joe Willard and Bro. Joe Combs. Burial under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer, MO.

RELATIONSHIP: His great-grandparents, William Baty and Margaret (Hazle) Baty, are my 4th great-grandparents.
