She was born the daughter of the late R. Grady and Corrine Durham Vaughn. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, formerly serving as Director of Children's Ministeries. She worked as a volunteer in many community programs and the public school system.
She is survived by her husband, O.C. "Buddy" Burrell of the home; a son, W. Scott Burrell and his wife Courtney of Charleston, SC; and two brothers, R. Gary Vaughn and his wife Pat of Greer, SC, and Rev. Billy E. Vaughn and his wife Brenda of Rutherfordton, NC.
