Graveside services for Lima native Gerald Manley Anderson, 68, were March 27 in Mountain View Cemetery with the Rev. Warren Smith officiating.

The Dillon post of the American Legion accorded military honors.

He died March 23 in a hospital in Newport News, Va. where he had lived since his retirement several years ago.

He was born July 17, 1918, to Luther and Goldie Anderson. He served in the Army during World War II and once operated a wrecker service in Skokie, Ill.

Surviving are his wife, Tillie; stepson, Pete Poulas, Jr.; and stepdaughter, Helena Popple, all of Newport News; sister, Goldie Hungate of Las Vegas; half-brother, Harry Hoenstine of Lima; nine step-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

Brundage Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
