Laveta Plunkett Ashcraft, 76, of Grapevine (Grant County), died Thursday at Sheridan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 30, 1927, at Grapevine, a daughter of the late John Alvin Plunkett and Gladys Bell Johnson Plunkett.
She worked in retail sales for Kemp Nall.
She was a member of Sardis Missionary Baptist Church at Grapevine.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Thomas Ashcraft; her stepmother, Mable Plunkett; a brother, Osbourne Plunkett; two stepbrothers, Hollis Ashcraft and Harold Ashcraft; and one grandchild.
Survivors include three sons, Kenny Ashcraft of Pine Bluff, Tommy Ashcraft and Steven Ashcraft, both of Grapevine; one daughter, Betty Clark of Sheridan; two brothers, Havis Plunkett and John Ed Plunkett, both of Grapevine; one stepsister, Audra Clement of Grapevine; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Ronald Young, O.J. Ramick and Carlin Gray officiating. Burial will be in Ain Cemetery by Memorial Gardens Funeral Home of Sheridan.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
