Mrs. Joyce Sutton Bozeman, 73, of Portland died Wednesday, January 1, 2003, at the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. A native of Crossett, a resident of Portland and the Aulds community outside Portland for the past 55 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Aulds Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zane Russell Bozeman, in 1996; a son, Jerry Bozeman, in 1968; her parents, Gene and Rhoda Mills Sutton; a soninlaw, Tommy Carpenter, in 1995; two brothers, Ercel and Bob Sutton; and one sister, Genora Sutton.

Survivors include three daughters, Zanie Carpenter, Margie Dalton, and Glenda Moyers and husband Tommy, all of Portland; a brother, Johnny Sutton of Fountain Hill; six sisters, Elizabeth Key and Margaret Ruffin of Monroe, LA, Opal West and Shirley Sharp of Crossett, and Lealor Lynn and Cynthia Middlebrooks of Bastrop, LA; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, January 3, in the Aulds Baptist Church outside Portland with the Revs. Ray Williams and E.W. Ricks officiating. Burial followed services at the Portland Cemetery under the direction of JonesHartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg. Pallbearers were grandsons Jeremy Dalton, Justin and Joshua Carpenter, Joseph Peacock, Barry Adams, Jeff Marter and David McGill. Honorary pallbearers were the men of Aulds Baptist Church.
