She was the mother of my first steady boyfriend. They lived on second street in La Porte. The house is no longer there it burned down in 2005. The building that they used for their business was next door and it is still standing. It was turned into a home. Mrs. Otter belong to many clubs in La Porte and helped her husband run the business. She was a small lady and very pretty. She was the mother of two children but only lived for a few hours. She show me pictures of them, one was Dixie and I can't remember the other. She said that they were in Pine Lake Cemetery, but I still haven't been able to locate the graves. They adopted two young boys, Charles and Earl. They really were brothers. In 1985 to 1986 I dated Earl, off and on. Charles married Peggy and they had two daughters. I stood up at their wedding, but it ended in divorce years later. I married and Earl left town (not because of me). They were a very loving family and Mrs. Otter treated me just like her own daughter. She tried to teach me how to cook.Even after things didn't work out with her son, she still treated me with like she always had. She was just like my mother. I loved her very much and still miss her to this day.
