He was born in Portsmouth and retired as an engineering draftsman, civil
service, from Little Creek Amphibious Base. He was a member and deacon of Temple
Baptist Church, Norfolk. He bowled with the Trinity Baptist Bowling League. He
was a son of the late John Wesley Addison and Minnie Spence Addison.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mamie Ruth Addison; a son, Ray M.
Addison and his wife Barbara A. of Virginia Beach; a brother, Edward L. Addison
and his wife Lossie of Norfolk; four grandchildren, Lauri, Eric, Dawn and Shawn;
and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Temple Baptist Church by the
Rev. Mark Pullen. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will
receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home,
Tidewater Drive Chapel.
