Clara Cook was the daughter of Anna M.Cook. Clara grew up loveless life, and was forced to work in her mothers brothel house. If Clara did not complete a chore, to Anna's request, she would often get beat or starved. Clara was taught the "good" life, her mother dressed her up and taught her give men what they wanted. One day Clara pushed Annie too far. Annie grabbed an iron pan, and hit Clara over the head. Clara almost died instantly. Clara's death caused major doubts. Annie had said that Clara was poisoned by a toxic gas. In the end, court ruled out that her death was "accidental".
