John H. Ambrose, Sr., 76, of Jacksonville, died May 27, 2005, at Onslow Pines Rest Home in Jacksonville.
The funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Saunders Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucinda Burton Ambrose.
Survivors include his sons, Johnnie Ambrose Jr., Jerry Ambrose, Timothy Ambrose and Robert Ambrose, all of Jacksonville; daughters, Inez Jones and Peggy Ellis, both of Jacksonville; brothers, William Ambrose and Alfred Ambrose, both of Jacksonville; and sisters, Effie Hatchet, Elnora Sutherland and Martha Odom, all of Jacksonville.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
