|This small article from The Oregonian of September 30, 1926 was the only reference I could find to my grandpa's sailing trip as a youngster of age 15. The date of arrival cited in the article matches my grandpa's journal of the trip exactly. Many years later as an adult he said he could vividly recall the smell of the fresh cut lumber.|
The Columbia River Paper Mills company was actually begun to provide pulp for paper for the Oregonian.
