Family members include her son William "Bill" Waters of Augusta; grandson, Gibson D. Waters, III and wife Sandy of Brooklet; granddaughter, Stacie Waters of Hephzibah; daughter-in-law, Gwen Akins Waters of Hephzibah and sister, Juanita Waters of Brooklet, GA. Mrs. Waters was predeceased by her son, Gibson D. Waters, Jr. and daughter, Cecelia Waters.
Born in Bulloch County, December 19, 1919 to the late Willie Allen (Sula Davis) Hagins, she moved to Augusta in 1953. Mrs. Waters was a devoted wife, mother and Christian. She was a very thoughtful, loving and caring person, who will be remembered for sending cards to friends and relatives for all occasions. She was a dedicated homemaker, a wonderful cook, renowned for her Chicken and Dumplings. Mrs. Waters was an excellent seamstress, sewing for herself and all her family. She enjoyed traveling, in particular her annual trips to Panama City Beach and to Cape Cod and other parts of New England in the fall. She was a member of First Primitive Baptist Church of Augusta and a former member of the South Augusta Woman's Club.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 15, 2005 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Elder Max Hicks and Elder J. Shelton Mikell officiating. Interment will follow at 5:00 P.M. at Upper Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Brooklet, GA with Elder Howard Cox assisting at the graveside.
