This is my Rottweiller Bear. He was a loyal and loving pet his whole life. Unlike other rotti's he wasn't mean or weird, mood wise. He was a great guard dog though and didn't take anyone walking in the house without my okay. He was my best friend in a different way than my brother Joe. He was a great companion and the nicest thing about him, unlike children is I could walk in empty handed and it wasn't, "where's my treat?" or, "did you buy me anything?" He just wagged his short tail, and was glad to see me. His kisses washed my whole face as he was huge, weighing about 200lbs. He was a big suck though. He hated thunder storms and would literally climb up on me if it stormed and that's a heavy dependant to have on your lap, God love him. Joe will take care of him now for me as when Joe came over and him being in a wheelchair, he knew Joe was special and would lay in front of the wheelchair as if to say, " you want him?, you need to get past me". What a sweeti. Joe's site is not under my name, as it was done as a gift by a great friend Janice after he passed in May which is how I found out about this site. Under my name if you click on photos, you will see Joseph Charles Franze, which is my brother's site and feel free to visit there too and leave flowers or whatever. Bear's favorite toy was ropes to tug of war with and he loved to chew cd's or dvd's believe it or not. Anyway I had to add him as he's truly missed and went a couple weeks before my brother Joe did, maybe there's a reason it happened that way, who knows. But however now they are together and I miss them both terribly in different ways but both were family and best friends to me. Joe loved Bear very much!! Bear suffered from arthritis and although he was good natured, I couldn't stand to let him suffer and we gave each other great years and he will always be remembered!! I love you Bear, Stay with Joe and now that he's not in his wheelchair, Get him to throw your ball and you can catch it! I cherish your beautiful urn and keep your ashes in my glass cabinet and know you are running with God and all the angels, pets and human!

I got this from the vet when Bear was put down:

If it should be that I grow weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
for this last battle cannot be won.

You will be sad, I understand
Don't let your grief then stay your hand
for this day,
more than all the rest.

We've had so many happy years.
What is to come can hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so,
The time has come - please let me go.

Take me where my need they'll tend,
And please stay with me till the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me,
Until my eyes no longer see

I know in time that you will see
The kindness that you did for me,
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering i've been saved.

Please do not grieve - it must be you
who had this painful thing to do.
We've been so close, we two, these years;
Don't let your heart hold back its tears.
