Catharine died in the Erie Poor Farm. She was a very feisty and contrary person, in order to maintain a life without her husband, the father of 4 children. In 1874, she moved her children to Kansas to be near her sister and raise her children. The trip was difficult, but with her determination. She had a mind of her own and made some people miserable because of it. On 5 June 1880, she married Joseph Hill Jamison and according to his family, it was a very short marriage and they soon divorced.

A lot of family disliked her very much and I wonder if they took away her stone or it disintegrated. Her son-in-law hated her so much that he had her buried on the other side of the cemetery from his burials.

The facts are all here and my Aunt, who was raised on the homestead while Catherine lived there. The 2 talked a great deal about the families in the past and future and this was all related directly to me.Gwen
