Mary Edna Evarts Cason, age 88, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2003, at her home in St. George, Utah.

Mary was born in Lebanon, Missouri, on May 8, 1915, to Robert Lintner and Clemintina Bechtel Evarts. She married James Floyd Cason, June 8, 1937, in Bakersfield, California.

Mary was a member of the American Colonists and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid genealogist who followed her lineage back to 1644. Mary served an LDS mission to the New Zealand South Mission with her husband in 1970-1971.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 66 years, James Floyd Cason of St. George; son, Ray and his wife, Margaret of Bountiful, UT; daughter, Kay and her husband, Chuck Call of West Des Moines, IA; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She will be missed and treasured by all.

Graveside services will be held Monday, August 25, 2003, at 10:00 a.m., in the Shafter Cemetery in Shafter, CA. Friends may call Friday, August 22, 2003, from 7-8 p.m., at Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, UT. Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, (435) 673-2454.
