The Rev. Douglas Lee Alford, retired, 67, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at Graham Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at Saint Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymund Mullan officiating. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Rev. Alford was born Oct. 27, 1938, in Brownwood to the late Elton Clyde and Viola (Sawyer) Alford. He graduated from Brownwood High School, Howard Payne University and received a master's degree of divinity from Nashotah House Episcopal Seminary. He married Shirley Early Oct. 18, 1957, in Brownwood. Rev. Alford moved to Graham in 1990 from Hurst and became the pastor of Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Graham until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife Shirley of Graham; two daughters, Melissa Coronada and Dianne Smith of Graham; one son, Robert Alford of Terrell; one brother, Roy Alford of Graham; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Catholic Charities, 2701 Birch Hill Road North, Fort Worth, TX 76105.
