After graduating from Mars Hill College, she worked in the office of Bost Bakery for 33 years. In her retirement, because of her interest in her family history, she became an expert research genealogist. She was an active member of the Broad River Genealogical Society. In collaboration with fellow researchers and cousins, Wilda Haskell and Joe Gold, she provided genealogical material which resulted in Mr. Gold publishing two books of family genealogy.
